Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan opens the hi-octane event
Organisers and exhibitors gear up for crowds over the weekend
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 30 April 2009: The Big Boys Toys Super Show was officially opened today by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan at an adrenalin-packed ADNEC. Touring the show, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan took the opportunity to talk to exhibitors and get to grips with some amazing gadgets and gizmos - from five wheeled bikes to flying trikes. The opening also included the unveiling of the world's fastest street legal super car, the Maxximus G-Force.
Other highlights at the show, which runs over the weekend (1 and 2 May 2009), include the 'Heat' trailer as used by Hollywood superstars Will Smith and Vin Diesel; a 9 ball pool tournament with the world's Number One Ralph Souquet, and a music lounge featuring some of the UAEs' hottest bands and international dance acts.
But that's not all. The super show features entertainment and exhibitors across seven hi-octane zones- Drive, Ride, Off Road, Marine, Aviation, Lifestyle and Wired - plus gaming tournaments, an air soft challenge, paintballing and indoor golf. This is the first time in its 11 year history that the international exhibition has come to the Middle East, thanks to Artaaj, the UAE events and promotions specialist.

Tickets for the show are still available at the door for the two remaining days at a cost of AED100 per day with limited VIP tickets also available priced at AED250 per day. VIP ticket-holders are entitled to fast track entry, entry to VIP area at the music lounge, and an exclusive tour of Will Smith's & Vin Diesel's Heat RV ride. All visitors will receive a 20% discount for purchases of 5-9 tickets and a 25% discount on purchase of 10 tickets and above.
The seven featured zones at the show are:
Off Road: Showcasing the most up-to-date range of all-terrain and 4x4 vehicles, dune buggies, quad bikes, produces and accessories on the market, this zone will see major international brands showcasing their latest developments in off-road technology. Everything that the off-road enthusiast could hope for!
Drive: Focusing on the latest designs and advances in high performance vehicles and including the world's fastest street-legal supercar, the Maxximus G-Force, this zone is all about the drive, featuring high-end sports cars to custom vehicles for the discerning sports driver. This is the place to find your dream car!
Ride: Covering everything from cruisers to high-tech racing machines for dirt, track and road, this zone gives you both engine and peddle power. If you love anything on two wheels, this is where it's at.
Marine: Bringing together the latest fun and excitement both on and in the water, this zone will showcase boats, jet boats and cruisers, as well as water sports products and equipment. This is where you can catch all the aqua action!
Aviation: This zone covers all the latest in affordable aviation technology with private jet services, hang-gliders and small aircraft alongside a huge range of remote-control aircraft. Take off - the sky's the limit!
Lifestyle: From watches, cool clothing and sports goods to nutrition, fitness equipment and other life-enhancing products and services, this zone features a wide range of quality lifestyle products, something for every discerning male!
Wired: The latest digital entertainment, mobile communications and home theatre systems along with demonstrations of the latest advances in electronic entertainment, plug together all into one zone. Here's where you can discover unique, up-market mobile gadgets and exciting new accessories!
Other attractions on offer over the weekend include:
Music Lounge: The Music Lounge will provide over 30 hours of non-stop music entertainment from some of the UAE's most talked about bands; including Juliana Down, Desert Heat and Beat Antenna, with performances by international dance ensemble, CHIC Production.
9-Ball Tournament: This is an open tournament played as Single Elimination which brings in players from across the region. Played over 3days, 128 international contestants will compete for the total prize money of Dhs150,000.
Gaming Tournaments: The three day show will see gamers from across the region compete to be champions of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, Counter-Strike 1.6 and Trackmania Nations Forever.
